A while back, we got up with our friend Josh Rouse (a Puremusic favorite) at a little black box theater called the Bongo After Hours Theater. We had a great conversation, though the audio on the interviewer is a little sketchy here and there.

We couldn't get Josh to sing for us that day, because his day was full of singing (radio show, long soundcheck with a new mixer, big show that night) but he did let us come and shoot soundcheck a couple of nights later at the Exit/Inn. It's a cool vibe, but the sound is a little muffled--right, it's a soundcheck! When we were shooting, the house engineer was still in the early stages of dialing the room in, and you can actually hear the sound improve as the performance footage progresses. But it's the backstage atmosphere that makes it special.
